The Dhaka Community Hospital Trust (DCHT) is providing nutritious food to Rohingya children and pregnant mothers. The Asia Pacific Alliance for Disaster Management (NPAD) and the Community Initiative Society (CIS) have come forward together with them.
In the meantime, a field hospital has been set up at Mona Ghona village of Balukhali of Ukhia upazila of Cox's Bazar. There are 1 lakh 20 thousand refugees in this area. There are three teams of DCHT, A-PAD and CIS providing health care services here. So far nutritious food has been provided to 1 thousand children and pregnant women.
DCHT Media Officer Waqar Hossain Tapan said Rohingya asylum seekers were very inconvenienced due to lack of food, medicine, lack of water, sanitation and inconvenience. The frequent rainfall among these increased their sufferings a few times. In this situation, DCHA has been helping the distressed people by cooperating with the Bangladesh government and local authorities with associate organizations.
In addition to supply of nutritious food among the children and pregnant mothers, the important functions of DCHT, AAP and CIS are to provide medical treatment to temporary health camps and to administer various mobile health clinics, provide infectious diseases and health conscious education, provide free medicines and medical Counseling He said that such activities would continue for the next two months.
