The first span (super structure) on the 37th and 38th pillars of the Padma Bridge has been set.
Span has been installed with a floating crane, through which the Padma Bridge has been visible.
The span was placed at the height of the pillar with a crane at 10:15 in the morning. Road transport and labor minister Obaidul Quader was present in the meeting.
The bridge authority has taken an action plan to make Padma bridge visible at the earliest time.
Meanwhile, the work of the 39, 40 and 42 pillar is moving very fast. Soon span will be placed on the number 39 and 40 of the pillar. Total three spans will be placed on four pillars.
In December 2015, construction of the main infrastructure of the Padma bridge started. More than 47 percent of the project is over. 41 spans to sit on 42 pillars in a 6 15-kilometer long bridge. The cost of construction of the bridge will be 28 thousand 793 crore 39 lakh taka. The work is scheduled to end in December next year.
