DC transport and construction minister Obaidul Quader said the first span (super structure) on the 37 and 38 pillars of Padma Bridge has been set up. No color dream, Padma bridge is now visible reality.
The minister said this after installing the first super structure on pillar at 10pm on Saturday.
He said, the work of pillar number 39, 40 and 42 is also moving very fast. Soon, a span will be placed on the number 39 and 40 of the pillar.
In December 2015, construction of the main infrastructure of the Padma bridge started. More than 47 percent of the project is over. 41 spans to sit on 42 pillars in a 6 15-kilometer long bridge. The cost of construction of the bridge will be 28 thousand 793 crore 39 lakh taka. The work is scheduled to end in December next year.
